2025 Apprenticeships
As an electrical apprentice, you will attend our state-of-the-art Technical Training Centre at Prestons in Western Sydney.
You will complete field placements in a variety of locations and roles, enabling you to learn from highly skilled and experienced tradespeople. By participating in job rotations, you will gain hands-on experience alongside specialised workers, in various areas including Substations, Field Service Centres and System Operations.
During your 4 year Apprenticeship, you will complete a trade, as well as having the opportunity to secure a second qualification. Our 2025 Apprentices will study towards a Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician qualification.
The second qualification you work towards will be determined after commencement, based on future work requirements. It may be:
- Certificate IV in Electricity Supply Industry – Substations
- Certificate III in Electricity Supply Industry - Distribution Underground
- Certificate III in Electricity Supply Industry - Distribution Overhead
We are recruiting apprentices for the areas listed below. You will primarily work from one of our Field Service Centres in these areas, but will also work across our Network area as required.
- Area 1 – Penrith, Windsor, Katoomba
- Area 2 – Glendenning
- Area 3 – Hoxton Park, Kings Park, Parramatta
- Area 4 – Narellan, Picton
- Area 5 - Kandos
During the application process you will be asked what areas you are applying to work in.
What’s involved?
- TAFE studies and industry specific training
- Completing field placements
- Some apprentices will:
- work from heights as they learn to install, repair and maintain overhead electrical equipment
- work at ground level or in trenches as they learn to install, repair and maintain underground cabling infrastructure.
- construct and work inside substations, diagnosing and rectifying faults
- The shift to a modern grid opens doors for deploying new smart energy and automation technology as we work towards a more sustainable future
Our program
Our four-year apprenticeships combine TAFE study and on-the-job practical experience.
The Endeavour Energy apprentice program provides the highest quality development and specialised industry training, payment of all educational fees and expenses along with paid leave to attend TAFE. All tools and equipment are supplied.

Applicant requirements
Applicants need to have completed Year 10 and/or be over 17 years to apply for a full-time apprenticeship.
We're looking for candidates who enjoy problem-solving and have an interest in practical and technical activities.
Most importantly, we want team players who enjoy a challenge, are passionate about supporting the community and have a genuine interest in the trade they are applying for.

Note: Rate as of 1 May 2024, with changes in line with the Endeavour Energy Enterprise Agreement (EA)
* Allowances include Electrical safety rules allowance (ESRA) paid at $139.84 per week once electrical safety training is complete
**Pay progression occurs at the end of each year of apprenticeship if under 21 in accordance with the EA

Career opportunities
Many of our apprentices go on to further employment opportunities at Endeavour. Beyond the trade, some choose to become technical specialists, while others opt for further study and development to move into leadership and engineering positions.
