Australia's first smart EV bus depot

A world first project to better integrate bus depots with the energy market and support faster rollout of electric buses in NSW is being trialled in Western Sydney, while also creating local jobs.

With the entire fleet of 8,000 public buses in NSW being converted to zero emission, we’re helping to deploy new approaches which will future proof power supply and enable faster roll out of electric buses in NSW.

We’re incredibly proud to be a part of a great Australian story which sees us working with Transport for NSW, Busways Group and Evenergi to power a brighter future for Western Sydney.

The first smart electric bus depot in NSW has been launched, a world first initiative which uses sophisticated Australian software to integrate smart bus charging with the energy grid.

Under the trial, the Busways Group electric bus depot will use Evenergi’s software to have real time visibility of the load on the network so the new buses can be charged outside periods of peak demand, keeping downward pressure on the price of electricity for all customers both now and into the future.

This project is another great example of local ingenuity delivering smart solutions that boost the development of local skills and capabilities in zero emission technologies to support new local jobs, a stronger, cleaner economy and greener transport options for everyone.
