Embracing sustainable transformation

Our CEO Guy Chalkley and Chief Data People & Sustainability Officer Melissa Irwin recently shared our sustainability journey at Salesforce’s Dreamforce 2023, one of the largest tech-conferences in the world.

Rising to the challenges and opportunities from the current energy transition in Australia, Guy shared how Endeavour Energy has evolved from a government monopoly to a more agile and nimble private company focused on powering a brighter future for the environment, our people and our communities.

Amidst the very tangible impacts extreme heat, record breaking bushfires and floods, Mel described how we relaunched our corporate strategy to put sustainability at the heart of everything we do with very ambitious goals; and how we’re now utilising Salesforce’s Net Zero Cloud to capture leading vs lagging data and improving our sustainability outcomes through insights.

Mel explained Endeavour Energy was only going to achieve these outcomes by empowering people and winning over hearts and minds with data and stories. “We needed to put it into the hands of our business and get them to start solving those sustainability challenges. By putting it into people's hands with the right tools and partners for success, you genuinely change culture and behaviour, and can do amazing things.”
