Endeavour Energy to upgrade 52,200 streetlights across Western Sydney
Endeavour Energy (NSW) is investing in sustainable technology, upgrading 52,200 streetlights across Western Sydney in partnership with the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC).
We recently met with Nicholas Pasternatsky from WSROC, Liverpool Councillor Clr. Karress Rhodes JP (Deputy Mayor Liverpool City Council) and Blacktown City Mayor Tony Bleasdale OAM to discuss the benefits of this new technology for the environment and their communities.
The program will replace older, less efficient, mercury vapour lights with new LED energy saving lights that are up to 60 percent more efficient. The roll out, set to be completed by 2024, will reduce greenhouse gases by 14,000t CO2 across Western Sydney - the equivalent of taking over 6,000 cars off the road for one year. In addition, residents will benefit from brighter, more reliable, higher-quality street lighting and improved public safety.
It’s part of our program to upgrade all streetlights across the Endeavour Energy network by 2024.
