IN THE NEWS

In today's The Australian Financial Review , our Head of Technology, Rude Reynierse and Head of System Operations, Edmund Li share how Endeavour Energy is on the cusp of deploying a “self-healing” function that will enable us to locate and isolate faults and quickly restore power to customers without physically being onsite.

This innovative solution is part of a planned and systematic digital transformation program we have been rolling out over the past few years to enable us to better respond to changing customer needs and further improve our service delivery and safety.

Rudi says that the digitisation of our outage system (otherwise known as the Advanced Distribution Management System or ADMS for short) has had “a transformative impact” in improving how we manage our network: "Our teams can now use iPads in the field to interact with the grid in real time and assess the status of a certain segment of network that they need to work on."

Ed adds, "We’re about to go live with the ‘self-healing’ grid module, that means we can restore power to most customers when there’s a fault in just 70 seconds, without even having to send someone out onto site. The system helps identify where the fault is, so we can then do the repairs. There is some really fantastic work and technology still being implemented, and all of those great systems that we implemented over the past couple of years are pretty much the foundational pieces.”

Thanks Edmund Tadros for highlighting how we are delivering a modern grid and constantly striving to deliver better outcomes for our customers and community.
