It’s been great to share with customers how we’re using drones instead of helicopters to keep communities safe and power reliable in bushfire prone areas.

Our Innovation & Technology Manager Michael Ryan recently spoke to Tom Sacre about how this innovative approach using drones equipped with high-resolution cameras and advanced sensors will deliver essential inspections with greater efficiency, speed and precision.

Harnessing their autonomously flying capabilities, the drones will cover a distance roughly the same as Sydney to the North Pole while minimising disruption to residents and communities compared to helicopter inspections in the past.
