Endeavour Energy Flood Update 23 March 2021 – 5:00PM

To maintain public safety, power has been isolated to approximately 1,100 low-lying properties along the Hawkesbury and Colo Rivers as well as adjoining creek catchments where floodwater is unable to drain away.

A further 1,500 homes and businesses are without power where large trees have fallen over powerlines after the huge volume of rain over the past four days has washed away soil around their roots.

While we continue to restore power to customers where crews can access fault sites, Endeavour Energy needs flooded roads and bridges to be reopened before repairs and safety checks can be made to re-energise the network.

With weather conditions worsening last night and rainfall throughout today, water levels in the flooded catchments are not expected to return to normal levels for several days.

We continue to work closely with the SES and other emergency services to monitor flood levels and weather forecasts so our crews are ready to safely restore power supply as soon as possible.

Endeavour Energy would like to thank affected customers for their patience in the face of this historic flood event. This is particularly the case for those customers who have not been evacuated but are without power due to flood damage on the electricity network upstream of their properties.

When customers do return home, properties that have been impacted by floodwater will need to be inspected by both Endeavour Energy and a licensed electrician before power can be safely re-energised.

Please remember to stay at least 8 metres clear of any damaged or fallen powerlines, and report them immediately by calling Endeavour Energy on 131 003 or emergency services on 000.
