Endeavour Energy Flood Update 25 March 2021 – 6:00PM
Endeavour Energy crews have successfully restored power to over 17,000 customers with 1,700 customers without power due to flooding.
Our priority is to return power supply to as soon as flood waters recede and roads reopen to allow crews to undertake repairs and safety checks.
As the weather improves, we are reminding people in boats to look up and put safety first around powerlines.
Powerlines and cables cross many areas that are not normally flooded which pose a potential risk to people in boats. Electricity can jump, and so you don’t need to touch powerlines and cables to sustain serious injury or be killed if you get too close.
If you are in a boat or other watercraft on floodwaters make sure you keep at least 5.5 metre clearance from powerlines.
While many parts of the Sydney’s Greater West remain flooded, Endeavour Energy is ready with people and equipment to get their power back on.
Our restoration plan includes installing generators to supply some areas where the network is still submerged and repairs to damaged powerlines will take time.
Endeavour Energy thanks customers for the patience they have shown during these challenging circumstances as crews continue to work hard to safely restore their power supply.
