Endeavour Energy Flood Update 26 March 2021 – 3:00PM
Endeavour Energy restored power to 500 homes and business to flood affected homes and businesses today across the Hawkesbury and Macarthur regions.
While many parts of the Hawkesbury region are still flooded, we're ready with people and equipment to get their power safely back on as quickly as possible.
There are 1,200 customers currently without power west of the Hawkesbury River and in areas around the Colo and MacDonald Rivers. In these areas access is not available due to flooding, debris and road closures.
Today
- McGraths Hills, South Windsor, Londonderry, parts of Lower Portland and the remaining areas of the Macarthur region - power was restored except where there was flood damage to individual properties requiring further safety inspections and repairs.
- MacDonald Valley - 70 properties were were restored where crews, assisted by NSW Police, cleared flood debris from the backbone of the network adjacent the Hawkesbury River. Further safety inspections will be required of homes and buildings in the MacDonald Valley impacted by floodwaters once access is available.
Tomorrow
- Freemans Reach, Wilberforce, Ebenezer, Pitt Town and Cattai - crews completed preparatory works today ahead of further work tomorrow to restore as many customers as possible. In these areas, there is more extensive flood damage which will require further safety checks and repairs to individual properties once the network is re-energised.
- Endeavour Energy staff will be at a Community Recovery Centre at the Rural Fire Service at 20 Jeanette Street Regentville from 8am on Saturday and Sunday to assist with customer enquiries.
Endeavour Energy today announced a customer assistance package to help customers and communities get back on their feet. The package includes:
- undertaking free inspections of meter boards to determine if properties are safe to reconnect
- waiving all application, site establishment and electrical contractor fees (valued between $350-$600) for customers reconnecting flood-damaged properties to the network
- pausing disconnections and follow up on private powerline defects in flood affected areas
- having a Community Liaison Officer at evacuation centres to answer customer queries about electrical safety and the reconnection process.
Further details are available in our Flood Restoration Plan. Updates on when power will be restored are at www.endeavourenergy.com.au/powerupdates or by calling 131 003.
We would like to thank customers for the patience they have shown during these especially challenging circumstances as our crews continue to work hard to safely restore their power supply.
