Power update 2 September 5pm
Endeavour Energy emergency crews are working to keep the community safe and restore power after extensive damage caused by today’s damaging winds.
Power has been disrupted power to over 45,000 homes and businesses throughout the day across the Southern Highlands, Shoalhaven, Illawarra, Blue Mountains and Western Sydney, with more than 190 electrical hazards.
Crews will work into the night to restore power to the remaining 21,000 customers currently without power. Due to the significant widespread damage, some customers will be without power overnight.
Where we have their mobile number, we will be contacting these customers to provide their latest estimated restoration times.
Safety First: Customers in storm affected areas are reminded to stay at least 8 metres away from any fallen powerlines. Treat all powerlines as 'live' and dangerous, and never drive across fallen powerlines!
Thank you for your patience and understanding as crews continue to restore power and ensure everyone’s safety.
