Storm update 20 July 4pm
Our emergency crews are responding to widespread damage caused by strong winds, which have brought down powerlines and trees and interrupted power supply to 8,200 homes & businesses in parts of Western Sydney and the Shoalhaven region.
Crews have begun patrolling storm damaged areas to keep the community safe and restore power where it is safe to do so by rearranging supply from other parts of the network.
Power is expected to be progressively restored in affected areas into tonight, however some isolated pockets may remain without power overnight due to the extensive damage.
As winds continue, there is potential for further damage in areas currently unaffected by outages.
Please remember to stay at least 8 metres from any fallen power lines and other damaged electrical equipment, and to be especially careful of damaged infrastructure hidden by fallen trees, branches and other debris.
If you or anyone living at your home needs power for home medical equipment, check your battery supply and consider acting on your back up plan. Contact us now on 131 003 to register for life support.
Thank you for your understanding as our storm response continues.
