Wind storm update - 28 August 5pm
Endeavour Energy emergency crews are working to address the extensive damage caused by today’s damaging winds, which have disrupted power across the Shoalhaven, Illawarra, Blue Mountains, and Western Sydney regions.
Throughout the day, power has been interrupted to over 58,000 homes and businesses, with nearly 200 incidents requiring repair.
Crews will continue working into the night to restore power to the remaining 15,000 customers currently without supply.
Where we cannot make repairs tonight, customers will be without power until tomorrow due to the severity of the damage or their remote location.
Winds are expected to pick up and continue in some regions overnight which may cause further damage and customer outages.
We will be proactively contacting customers without power by SMS (where we have mobile phone number) to check on their welfare and provide an updated estimated restoration time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore power and ensure everyone’s safety as our storm recovery continues.
