Bright sparks wanted to power the modern grid

“We’re looking for the best and brightest who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve,” said Endeavour Energy’s Chief Executive Officer Guy Chalkley.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a highly sought-after electrical apprenticeship in a successful company with a track record of safety performance, engineering excellence and innovation.

“It is an incredibly exciting time to join our team to create and connect liveable, productive and sustainable communities served by world class infrastructure.”

Mr Chalkley said that advancements in technology were driving change and creating new opportunities in the way electricity was generated, distributed, used and stored.

“To ensure Endeavour Energy continues to meet the changing needs of the modern grid, we need a highly skilled and adaptable workforce capable of meeting the challenges of the future.

“Our area includes game-changing transformational infrastructure projects like the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and will be home to one in every 11 Australians in the next 15 years.

“This apprenticeship provides a rich and rewarding career on the doorstep of a thriving economic hub delivering new jobs and homes at the heart of Western Parkland City.”

Mr Chalkley said the new apprenticeships were a significant investment by Endeavour Energy in powering communities for a brighter future.

“The successful candidates will graduate after four years with a nationally recognised Electrotechnology Electricianqualification and a second trade based on future workforce requirements, which will open up job opportunities across the country.

“Central to their training will be learning keeping themselves, their work mates and the community safe,” Mr Chalkley said.

Applications are open from 2 to 27 August with successful candidates start their training at Endeavour Energy’s purpose-built Hoxton Park Technical Training Centre in early 2022.

Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to join a virtual information session to hear more about the role and ask questions of from the Endeavour Energy team, including the current crop of apprentices.

Interested applicants are invited to lodge their applications at careers.endeavourenergy.com.au.
