Endeavour Energy is thrilled to invite community groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations to apply for its Powering Communities grants program with grants of $2,000 and up to $15,000 available to support the community to deliver important local initiatives.

Now in its second year, Endeavour Energy’s Chief Customer and Strategy Officer, Leanne Pickering said that the Powering Communities grants program supports Endeavour Energy’s goal of powering communities for a brighter future.

“As the electricity distribution provider that’s responsible for powering communities spanning from central NSW to the Blue Mountains, Greater Western Sydney, Southern Highlands, the Illawarra and South Coast, we play a critical role in the lives of the 2.7 million people who live and work in our network region.

“While providing safe, reliable, resilient and affordable power to our 1.2 million customers is at the core of what we do, we recognise that having a positive impact on the communities we serve is just as important.

“We know that our customers are doing it tough right now with cost-of-living pressures, and our Powering Communities grants program is needed more than ever.

“Over the last year, through our Powering Communities grants program, we supported 16 community groups in delivering programs to support people experiencing vulnerable circumstances, STEM programs in schools, projects that have helped communities prepare for bushfires and floods as well as environmental initiatives.

“We are now inviting applications for our next round of grants, and we’re looking forward to partnering with more community groups to deliver even more local initiatives that enable STEM learning and education, community resilience, environmental leadership and social inclusion. Don’t miss this opportunity to support your community,” Ms Pickering concluded.

Powering Communities offers one-off grants of $2,000 to $15,000 to community groups such as not-for-profit organisations, registered charities and schools across four categories:

  • STEM and education – programs that encourage STEM and create learning and development opportunities.
  • Social inclusion – programs that support inclusiveness, equity and diversity or support community wellbeing.
  • Community resilience – programs that support the community to withstand and recover from extreme weather events.
  • Environmental leadership – programs that help the community to participate in renewable energy and reduce their carbon footprint.

Applications are open until Sunday 20 October 2024. For more information on the program and to apply visit www.endeavourenergy.com.au/poweringcommunities
