FAQs for Beakon Self Serve portal users

What is the ASP Scheme?

The Department of NSW Climate and Energy Action's Accredited Service Provider (ASP) scheme accredits organisations to perform contestable work on the NSW electricity distribution network, giving consumers who need to connect to the network the access to a competent and competitive mark of service providers. The ASP scheme ensures customers have the right to have this work done by suitably accredited companies and their qualified staff. This promotes the competitive provision of services while ensuring that essential safety and other technical requirements are observed.

What is an accreditation letter?

The ASP Scheme will issue an accreditation letter once you have met all their requirements and are approved. This letter has a 4-digit number and expiry letter, and the name of the Company that has applied for this. This needs to be renewed annually. Please contact the ASP Scheme directly with any enquiries relating to this.

What is an employee registration letter?

For an individual to work on or near the electricity distributor’s network, all employees must be registered with an ASP with NSW Climate and Energy Action to do the work they are registered to do.  This is a requirement for both employees and subcontractors.  Please contact the ASP Scheme directly with any enquiries about these requirements.

If I am an Accredited Service Provider do I pay a fee to register my company with Endeavour Energy?

There is no fee for the company to be registered.

Do I pay an authorisation fee for my staff?

A single fee will be charged annually per authorised worker. This fee is to be paid at the time of authorisation submission for approval. The renewal fee will be due 12 months from the date the fee was paid.  The fee is to be paid annually to maintain compliance.  Non-payment of fee will result in the authorisations becoming non-compliant.

Can we have more than one login for our company?

Unfortunately, there is only one login per company, if your account administrator leaves, please email authorisations@endeavourenergy.com.au requesting a change to your login details.

What is the status on an authorisation?

  • Compliant (Green) - this means the authorisation is approved or authorised.
  • Non-compliant (Red) - this indicates the authorisation is not approved or not authorised.
  • Approval Pending (Orange) - this means the authorisation has been submitted and is currently awaiting approval.

Am I able to submit my own authorisation for approval?

Only a sole trader that holds a current accreditation with NSW Climate and Energy Action can submit their authorisation for approval.  If you work for a company, the administrator, office manager or owner will need to submit your authorisation for approval.

Do I need to be authorised for other companies I am subcontracting to?

A person will only be required to be authorised with one employer to work on the Endeavour Energy network., You may subcontract to other employers performing the same work they are authorised to carry out.  This means secondary or additional employers will no longer need to authorise the subcontractor with Endeavour Energy if they can verify the subcontractor’s Endeavour Energy authorisation is compliant.
